The General Election on November 3, 2026 will be preceded by Primary Election on March 17, 2026. The Democratic and the Other Party elect their Township Precinct Committee-persons in the Primary, so they are in place during the campaign period leading up to the General Election. The other offices to be filled this election cycle include one U.S. Senator (Richard Durbin is not running for reelection), all members of the U.S. House of Representatives (17 of them in Illinois) the Governor and Lt. Governor, Illinois Attorney General, Secretary of State, Comptroller and Treasurer. About 1/3 of the Illinois Senate and all 118 Illinois House seats are to be elected as are various Judge slots. In Kane County all of the odd-numbered County Board Districts, the County Clerk, Treasurer, Sheriff, and Assessor are also to be collected. The Kane County Clerk expects to have complete candidate/campaign guides only no later that July 5. We will post a link sooner if we see it sooner..
Anyone considering running for office in Kane County might start the conversation with their Township Democratic Committee chairperson, or the Kane County Democrat Chair. See http://KaneDems.org
