Candida “Connie” Cain of Gilberts in extreme Northwest Kane County is another announced Democratic candidate for County Treasurer.. Connie has been a Republican but now claims Democratic status, claiming that the Republican Party has become ineffective. She is a CPA and was Director of Financial Operations in Republican County Treasurer Chris Lauzen’s office until he fired her around Thanksgiving last year. Lauzen has not announced whether he will seek reelection but if he does, Cain will face her former boss, but she would have to win the primary election first.
